Hey guys n gals, just a quick pro-tip on Empy that I picked up last few weeks testing out beta versions pre-release: Disable auto-updates on Empyrion - Make it update only when the game starts option etc, or when you tell it to specifically.

That way when new releases are published, the version of Empyrion does not update automatically (noob mistake/default settintgs!) and create a situation where you cannot connect to the server until the next day.

Empyrion devs are fantastic in that they release a LOT of patches, and the updates/testing runs usually last about 1 week no more, so this means it updates frequently "test often, release often" mantra.

It makes a lot sense to disable auto-updates to Empyrion because of this, unlike most of your other steam games which do not update so frequently/have such awesome devs.

I also agree that it is too late based on what others have told me - it might be more flexible as a weekend thing perhaps. Also need to take into consideration the daylight savings adjustment and in other states across Australia. Would love to know how many people that play are from what state/tz?

The planned events are always changing things up, interesting and fun, but I think the reminders the events are on might need to be increased in case/for people that forget.

Really good idea tk. I remember that was the first time I started venturing into PVP on EVE was gauntlet/courier runs between 2 pve systems with a short 4-5 hop pvp systems inbetween which was very profitable moving goods from one of the systems to the other. Totally makes sense but it would be good if there was a propensity of a certain type of materials or pois or something that would encourage the risk to typically pvp players - and as the pvp ores would have to continue being in pvp, it would have to probably just be an abudance of some pve thing? Also good situation when people get 'stuck' on the other side too :)

Just created an account on empyrion-servers.com to be able to "favourite" it, as I realised that there are achievements to be had by accruing favourites too ;-)
Realised German #1 server ( currently on 173 votes ) only was favourited twice, and Venatus already had been favourited 7 times (now 8 ;-) )



Also tried to do the +1 thing but my social network stuff is on rather paranoid settings so I'm not sure if it worked.

I can speak first hand, that if it wasn't for datristan, I would not have made my first EGS circle. Competed tonight. More to come soon.
I will put my hand up to attend again if it is a group workshop kinda thing for sure. Will also spread the word around with faction mates.

Hey Andy,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a BIG THANK YOU for all your awesome work this past week with the rest of the admins mostly busy, you survived a few pretty big dramas (eg: diluvio moon to name just ONE) last week on-top of the fact that we were down a few admins, and on top of the regular volume of newbies, bugs, exploits and shenanigans you guys would normally endure. I am sure the rest of the community agrees ;-)

Do not think that your awesomesauce was not duly appreciated or noticed.
BTW, what wine do you like and when's ya b'day? :-)

1. What about regular player sentries protecting a tunnel sitting on top of a block and clearly in sight?
2. What are some other methods we can protect a base externally (read: outside of the base walls)?

We probably need to update http://www.venatusaustralia.com/rules/cores-placed-inside-asteroids/msg474 and rules after this new ruling in that case.

One thing to consider is the repercussions of building cores inside asteroids, not in regards to combat/tactical advantages but with respect to maximum structs/ents/cores in a playfield though, and admin overhead as I am pretty sure the owner of the core themselves cannot remove the core from inside the asteroid after the fact as well - meaning when cleanups are done admins have to look through asteroids individually (if they are renamed from Base (BA) to something?) or will they continue to pile up indefinitely until the playfield is filled?
