Maby setting a spawn point should be a rule? As it is so far ive only ever had enough pentax to get from point a to b so good luck to anyone that needs a lift from me in that situation, i would do my best to abide by the rules however i doubt id have pantax to get them home ect, if it was on a moon that would be fine, i would make them pick the stuff for there ride or they dont get one.

Is it also sensible that you have your home spawn point set so you can get back yourself? You've gone into a PvP fight and lost, the winner takes all their loot so you have nothing to transport back except your body, so just re-spawn at home. If you want to come back later and pick over whatever was left of your vessel that is up to you.

I think more onus needs to be on the individual on getting themselves out with either home spawn, emergency SV/CV in factory or their faction mates can come and collect before the victor has to upset their plans and salvage to take someone back.

Ok so here is a scenario that i think should be addressed if not already been addressed, say im a casual player with nothing against pvp as its simply part of the game, however i make a plan in the 2-3hrs i have spare to hit the moon for some sath or pentax ect.. i land setup any defence i feel i need meanwhile another player has seen me and decided he will attack, say i actually win said battle by whatever means, and the attacker is now defeated and stranded am i ment to drop my entire plan considering i only have so much playtime to assist the wouldbe thief/pirate to home/safe place to continue his game? The decision to attack a person shouldn't be helped by any rules to make said decision an easy one, part of that process should be, can i win, if i dont will i be stranded.
Knowing you will will get a free ride to safety takes processe away and its just happys days.
Howdy,
If this were to happen, I think it is fair for you to say to the attacker (who attacked you, but lost the battle and is now stranded) that they are going to have to wait until you're done. I don't think you should have to suspend your operations because someone attacked you and lost. Once you are complete, if you have the ability to actually take them somewhere, then do so, to the nearest location where they can continue their game, or where someone else can assist further.

The idea is not so you have to go massively out of your way to fix up a situation, but you can at least get them to the point where you can go your way, they can continue their way without being completely stranded.

Andy.

Hey Moe
I've been in Bali for a week. I got wifi & tried to vote for server 331 but it's been removed.
I'll work out what's going on once I log in.
Cheers ELP

So as you can see from below, we have the most players in the world currently, but are only ranked 19th ???

Are we doing something wrong? Is there a reason you don't vote? Let us know please  :)

As the person who wrote the rule I can say at the time the spirit of the rule was that you could only leave with what was in your backpack at the time of surrender.

Right, and that is how I read the rule from a very literal point of view.  In practice, atm, it would appear that if you surrender, people will kill you one more time, make sure you don't have valuables on you, then offer the lift.

As for the ransom part - that is usually "If you want your ship, pay me X and Ill let you come get it" (rather than a "pay for passage").

The other part that is interesting to me atm is that it is to ensure that people aren't stranded.  This means that if they aren't stranded and  they don't surrender, I don't have to offer anything and can simply leave.

I feel that most people are "in the spirit" of not leaving others stranded, but there appears to be entitlement on both sides (1. You surrendered so I get your backpack 2. You killed me, so take me anywhere I want in the system) that should be cleared up by both admins and the community to basically say what is expected.

There are people who take advantage of this, and it really pains me to see an honorable winner of PvP getting messed with as much as an unfortunate victim of PvP getting messed with (including myself who had someone demand turrets were turned off, then they jumped in their ship and flew away).

PS: There are a lot of people who are prepared to go into PvP space for a rescue if you do find yourself stranded after an "unfortunate incident" and most of us wont be asking for "payment".  I also ask that people who are on such a "rescue mission" be given free passage while doing such things.

I think that dropping them somewhere that is somewhere that they can self recover from is good enough, maybe even a trading station where there are portals would work as well.
