Venatus Australia is now 'LIVE' with Alpha 6
« on: 07 June, 2017, 20:01:55 pm »
Hi everyone,

Well after quite a long wait (much more than we originally thought) the developers Eleon have finally released Alpha 6!

There is a LOT that has changed since Alpha 5 –visit www.empyriononline.com for the list of changes…..well worth getting your head around some of the new content.

Server wise, I have implemented a few global changes from V5. I have increased the decay time for small non-core structures from 5 to 10 days, and normal cored structures from 21 to 30 days. I have increased the offline protection from 5 days to 7 days, and increased the number of cores per playfield from 150 to 200.

You will also notice that there are a lot less playfields in the new universe. This is by design. The Venatus universe will be starting off with much fewer playfields initially. As a player I think it makes for a nicer gaming experience to see a lot of other players running around doing stuff rather than hardly ever meeting anyone. This will help players meet other players and provide opportunities for teamwork and co-operation. In this new version of the game, teamwork is far more important than before.

Don’t be concerned at the initial small universe however, as more sectors and planets will be added as the Venatus players gradually start to explore the known universe. Exploration will bring rewards, and will be required if you want to obtain all the rare resources you will want for the more advanced crafting.

Speaking of exploration, once you decide to leave the starter system, you will not be able to return. This is also by design. There are plenty of resources available to you once you venture out from the starter system, and I would encourage you to do this when you have the necessary resources to be self-sufficient. This will facilitate a constant flow of players expanding their horizons to new worlds, freeing up space for new players to establish themselves on the starter systems.

Well folks, the server is up and running with the new version, so hop on in and enjoy!

Is it still empyrion-servers.com/server/331
Coz that says it's still 5.5  and offline

It was the correct server but I needed to update the port settings for it to pick up the Alpha 6 server status.
